Unlearning the extractive economy, together. Explore ecological ways of working, creating, and being in business.

Business, creativity, and work, reimagined through the lens of nature, ecology, and liberation. Common Ground is where DoGoodBiz's values become a curriculum. Taught and tended by Natalie Brite for creatives, founders, healers, and practitioners who are done with the frameworks they've been handed and ready to build something rooted in care.

Workshops, mentoring, cohort experiences, and community gatherings. Priced to be as accessible as possible. Sliding scale available across the board.

What Common Ground is and what it isn't.

Most business education teaches you how to work better within the existing system. Common Ground asks a different question: what if the system itself is the problem?

This is a practice space, not a course catalog. It's for people who are done with the grind culture frameworks, the extraction-based growth models, and the marketing strategies that ask you to perform rather than connect. It's for the ones who want to build work that is rooted in care for people, community, and the living world, and who want community and support while they do it.

Common Ground is taught and tended by Natalie Brite: designer, writer, ecological thinker, and founder of DoGoodBiz Studio. The curriculum draws on frameworks from creative liberation, ecological thinking, anti-capitalist practice, decolonial approaches to work and community, and the hard-won experience of building a values-rooted creative business over many years.

Who Common Ground is for.

Common Ground is for you if you recognize yourself in any of these.

  • You've tried the conventional approaches. Some of them worked, in their way. But something about the underlying assumptions (grow fast, optimize everything, charge what the market will bear) has never sat right. You're not just looking for better tactics. You're looking for a different way to think about the whole thing.

  • How you price. How you relate to clients. How you sustain yourself. How you think about growth and what it even means. You want all of it to be coherent with what you actually believe, and you want support in figuring out what that looks like in practice, not just in theory.

  • Not treated as a niche or a qualifier. Not nodding at and then setting aside when the real business advice starts. You want a learning space built from those frameworks where they're the foundation, not the footnote.

  • Not a networking opportunity. Not a cohort full of people competing for the same clients. A genuine community of practitioners, creatives, and leaders who are doing similar work, asking similar questions, and willing to be honest with each other about what they're figuring out.

  • Common Ground is not a program with a fixed entry point or a price tag that assumes a certain kind of income. Sliding scale, community pricing, and accessible options are built into how this space works, because the people doing the most important work in the world shouldn't have to prove they can afford to learn how to do it better.

Current offerings.

One-on-one creative mentoring for values-rooted practitioners and founders

Creativity Mentoring

Mentoring is for when you don't need more information, you need someone to think with.

A trusted creative presence who helps you sort through what's tangled, stay connected to your values, and move forward with more trust than pressure. This is not coaching in the conventional sense - it's a lateral, honest, ongoing creative relationship. Thinking together, questioning together, building together.

Sessions are held over video call. They can cover anything from creative direction and business strategy to voice, offering development, navigating the practical realities of building values-rooted work, and the deeper questions about what you're actually here to contribute. There's no fixed agenda; we follow what's most alive for you.

Creatives, practitioners, founders, and leaders at any stage who are ready to stop going it alone and want a creative partner who actually understands the complexity of what they're building. Especially useful if you're navigating a significant transition, working through a creative block, or trying to make a values-based decision that doesn't have an obvious answer.
